The UAB men's basketball team is far from a finished product, but coach Mike Davis lauds the team's chemistry thanks to the leadership of their seniors.

Aaron Johnson and Jamarr Sanders, the only two seniors on the team who have started every game, have been the unquestioned leaders.

“Both of them are unselfish,” says Davis. “Neither one of them are thinking about the NBA. Both guys are thinking about UAB basketball and, believe it or not, that’s really important when you have your seniors focusing on your team rather than where they’re going to play next year.”

Wednesday night's game between East Carolina and UAB has been postponed because this week's winter storm that has resulted in cancellations and flight delays in Alabama.

A makeup date for the game has not been set.

UTEP coach Tim Floyd spoke highly of UAB coach Mike Davis ahead of their matchup on Saturday.

"First of all, they are just a very well- coached team," Floyd said of the Blazers. "Mike (Davis) does an excellent job. Other than Memphis, UAB has been one of the most competitive teams in our league the last six years. This will certainly be one of our two most difficult road games of the year."

UTEP is 13-3 and 1-0 in C-USA play, while UAB is 10-3 overall and 7-0 at time.
